This year, the Washington Town & Country Fair is excited to introduce a new premium attraction for adrenaline-seeking fairgoers — while supporting a cause close to the Fair’s heart.
The Thrill Zone, located near the North Gate, will feature Drop Zone and Fireball — two high-intensity rides available as a pay-per-ride upgrade. Thrill Zone hours are 4–11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 4–10 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 per ride, $20 for a daily wristband, or $60 for a weekly wristband. Proceeds benefit the Firefighter Chevy Gall Foundation.
The Foundation honors Chevy Gall, a devoted 16-year-old volunteer with the Beaufort Leslie Fire Protection District who tragically lost his life in an April 4 auto accident while responding to a water rescue call. His parents, Rocky and Sarah Gall — owners of Gall Defense Security Solutions, the Fair’s security provider — established the Foundation to fund a Franklin County Drivers’ Education program aimed at reducing accidents among inexperienced teen drivers.
While the Thrill Zone offers an optional upgrade, all traditional carnival rides on the Midway remain included with Fair admission. This year’s Midway has been enhanced, with three kiddie rides relocated toward the West Gate walkway to make room for additional action rides.
Midway Hours:
Wed/Thur/Fri: 10 a.m.–Noon, 1–5 p.m., 6:30–11 p.m.
Sat: Noon–5 p.m., 6:30–11 p.m.
Sun: Noon–5 p.m., 6:30–10 p.m.
The Chairman’s Event, featuring the Dominguez Family Circus, has also moved to the West Gate area, near the expanded kiddie rides. Showtimes are 12:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. daily.
Fair Board Chairman Josh Wehmeyer shared, “Our goal is to give fairgoers the best experience possible while making the most of our limited space. Upgrading our Midway, while keeping it included with admission was a priority, and we’re glad we could get that done for our Fair goers with the addition of more rides. We’re thrilled to offer the new Thrill Zone for those seeking an extra adventure — and even prouder that it will benefit the Firefighter Chevy Gall Foundation.”
